First Friday Eucharistic Adoration

Based on the Church’s teaching and understanding of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, Eucharistic Adoration is a quiet, calming time away from our busy world to spend time with the Lord Jesus. It involves having the Eucharist visibly exposed within a vessel called a monstrance on the altar of the church (or in the side sacristy if the church proper is unavailable for a funeral, wedding rehearsal, etc.)

The practice of having Eucharistic Adoration on the First Friday of each month comes from our parish’s Salesian and Jesuit traditions, with roots in an apparition of Jesus’ Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Sister of the Visitation of Holy Mary.

Adoration is held the First Friday of each month from 7:30 AM (immediately following the 7am Mass) until 7:00 PM. We are always looking for parishioners to take a time slot (usually an hour at a time) in prayer before the Eucharist.

Sign up in church the week before the first Friday, or contact the parish office.
