The LAST newsletter of the 2016 – 2017 school year!!!! I can’t believe I have been writing this newsletter for the past 6 years as Principal of Gesu. As we close another chapter on the history of this wonderful school, I just want to thank everyone for their support of Gesu! We have a great thing going on here and while we are all happy for a little rest and relaxation this summer, we are already excited and looking forward to next school year! A new year, new leaders, new faces, new ideas! Every day we are thinking of ways to improve the experience at Gesu. So, I wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer but I can’t wait to see everyone again in August, it will be here before you know it!!!!
The school office will be open all summer (office hours and days will be posted), so if you have questions or know of families looking to enroll please have them stop by or give us a call (419-536-5634).
Fun Times The past couple of weeks have been wonderful! We celebrated Red Ribbon Week with a guest author, and we also had a chance to recognize our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! Plus, our 6th grade just returned from a fun and educational week at Camp Storer. This week we get to celebrate a Gesu tradition…Special Friends Day with great music, art and writing. We hope to see everyone at school for Mass at 9:00, a concert at 10:15. Also take a tour of the school to see our school Art Show and Writing Fair! There is an early dismissal as well at 11:00 A.M.
8th Grade This week we get to celebrate our 8th grade with a family luncheon and the 8th grade walk. Our students will get to see our 8th graders in the graduation gowns as they take one last stroll through the hallways of Gesu!!!! We started this tradition last year and it was a wonderful way to let our 8th graders say good-bye to Gesu one last time! Next week our 8th grade will take a class trip to Niagara Falls. Then on Thursday, May 25th, Twenty-four 8th graders will graduate from Gesu School! Graduation always brings a wide range of emotions, but we know these Gesu students are ready for the next chapter in their lives! Many of those 24 students have been with us since at least kindergarten! We are so proud of the great young men and women they have become and remember…. “Once a Greyhound…always a Greyhound”! God Bless and we will miss you!!!!!
